2.0 Please be sure to bring the following information with you:

  • passport
  • study visa
  • travel visa (if required)
  • letter of acceptance
  • medication that you may require on a regular basis
  • copies of immunization records
  • summer and winter clothes
  • pictures and souvenirs of your home country to share with others
  • credit card and bank card

3.0 Please remember tuition, homestay and insurance fees must be paid prior to your arrival.

How to pay for application and tuition fees:

HOW TO PAY FEES:

Payment Method One – NorthStar Currency (preferred method)

Red Deer Public Schools has partnered with NorthStar Currency to accept fee payments.

Payment Instructions:

Save money and make your payment by credit card or bank transfer in over 40 currencies within a fully trackable system. Students will receive confirmation when funds are received by the school board. Using this system you will receive the best exchange rate and no service charges.

Text books, course supplies and locker rental
Remember you will need extra money for the start up of school to pay for courses supplies, textbook rentals, and locker (approximately $200).   Most international students will be required to take a Math class.  Students are required to have a graphing calculator.  The program does have graphing calculators that can be borrowed for students who require them and if they are not returned at the end of the program, the student will be responsible for the replacement cost (approximately $125)

Extra costs for homestay
In addition, you will need to pay $30 per night  for homestay days in your arrival month in August or January if you have not paid for these nights already.  The amount you will owe will depend on the day your arrive.

We will be having a meeting of  international students for one day of orientation . Please bring  your documents (Passport, Study Permit) to this meeting.

International students should arrive in Canada on the weekend of August 27 and 28,

2016.

Students arriving outside these dates may be subject to an additional charge of approximately $190 for airport pickup.

IMPORTANT:  Year End Departure Dates for International Students are on June 29 and 30.

Transportation to the airport is available on these dates.  Students departing outside these dates may be subject to an additional charge of approximately $190 for airport drop off.

PLEASE NOTE:

*All students must depart the program by June 30 at the very latest as the school district is closed for the summer break.  The homestay program also ends on June 30, 2017.
