Please fill out the forms included in this guide to the best of your ability. This will speed up the registration process when you arrive in Canada.

Dear Students for the 2018-2019 School Year,
By now I am sure that you getting excited about your upcoming adventure in Canada. We look forward to welcoming you to our country, province, city and schools. Here are some important details:
1.0 Please find enclosed the following documents:
-Orientation Guide * Very Important!
-homestay guide book in your language
(please read it before you leave together with your parents and bring this with you)
-homestay family profile (sent in an earlier e mail)
-Guide to Winter in Canada
-Link to Arrivals App to help you when you travel to Canada (please download to your smart phone before you travel if you are bringing one)

2.0 Please be sure to bring the following information with you:
- study visa
- travel visa (if required)
- letter of acceptance
- medication that you may require on a regular basis
- copies of immunization records
- summer and winter clothes
- pictures and souvenirs of your home country to share with others
- credit card and bank card
3.0 Please remember tuition, homestay and insurance fees must be paid prior to your arrival.
How to pay for application, homestay and tuition fees:
HOW TO PAY FEES:
Red Deer Public Schools has an International Payment Portal to provide you with an easy and secure method to make payments from your home country. This portal allows you to save on bank fees and exchange rates, access multilingual customer support, and track your payment from start to finish, including when your payment reaches our school district.

Text books, course supplies and locker rental
Remember you will need extra money for the start up of school to pay for courses supplies, textbook rentals, and locker (approximately $50). Most international students will be required to take a Math class. Students are required to have a graphing calculator. The program does have graphing calculators that can be borrowed for students who require them and if they are not returned at the end of the program, the student will be responsible for the replacement cost (approximately $125)
Extra costs for homestay
In addition, you will need to pay $30 per night for homestay days in your arrival month in August or January if you have not paid for these nights already. The amount you will owe will depend on the day your arrive.

We will be having a meeting of international students for one day of orientation . Please bring your documents (Passport, Study Permit) to this meeting.

August 28 and 29 there will be field trips to Calgary and to Banff for the students who have paid Activity Fees.
Day 2: School Tours, Timetable Changes, lockers, text books and fun activites
Times will be announced depending on which school you attend.
September 4 Classes Begin.

- Open up Internet Browser
- In the Address Bar type https://powerschool.rdpsd.ab.ca/public/home/html
- Type in your username/password (Student Computer Login)
To see the current grades you will need the student's username and password which can be obtained by e-mailing International Services email@example.com
