Canadian Educator Exchanges - The Canadian Education Exchange Foundation is a non-profit foundation which handles both student and educator exchanges. International educational exchanges offer educators and their students an opportunity to broaden their understanding of one another's cultures, customs and languages. Exchanges are rewarding, but there are some factors you need to consider prior to applying to the program.

Queen's International Job Fair - Queens University in Kingston, Ontario provides information about teaching overseas and job fairs.

The International Educator - The International Educator provides information for teachers considering going to work in International Schools around the world.

European Council of International Schools - Learn about teaching opportunities from the European Council of International Schools (ECIS)

Search Assoicates - This is a Canadian agency that places teachers in international teaching positions.

Department of National Defence DND - The Department of National Defence hires Canadian teachers on a loan of service agreement to teach Canadian students in Belgium and The
Netherlands.Click on www.familyforce.ca then Education and Training and then Teacher Recruitment. 

Deadline for application is usually November 1 of any given year.

Council of International Schools - This link lists all permanent and frequently occasional international teaching jobs that might arise due to pregnancies , emergencies etc. Your can select the areas of teaching preference and then hunt for a job that might suit you.

International Supply Teachers ITS - IST is an organization with handpicked, experienced, emergency supply teachers ready to substitute in any international school with a week's notice!
IST provides short to medium term supply/substitute teaching positions in quality international schools offering British, US and IB curricula.
IST responds immediately to requests from international schools who have had an emergency vacancy and need supply/substitute teachers. IST teachers cover all grade levels K-12 and all international teaching subject areas.

  1. Rob Porkka taught for the Department of National Defence from 1989-92 in Baden Soellingen, West Germany and from 1998-2000 at AFNORTH International School in Brunssum, The Netherlands.
